Magazine “Die Schweizer Museumszeitschrift”:
60 Years of History, Commemorated with Silver
When an association celebrates a milestone anniversary, its publication must also convey this in an appropriate manner. For the anniversary issue of the Swiss Museum Journal—which serves as the joint voice of VMS and ICOM Switzerland for their members—we designed a cover that visually captures readers’ attention.
The Anniversary Magazine at a Glance

- Finishing: Silver foil stamping on the cover
- Cover paper: Sirio Pearl Ice White, 230 g/m², with a glossy and shimmering effect
- Paper: Refutura, Blue Angel, 100 g/m², matte, lightly coated
- Printing: Offset, 4-color process on all sides
- Binding: PUR adhesive binding, 4-fold grooved cover
- Insert: A5 invitation card, 5-color plus Pantone Silver
- Print run: 3,000 copies, ready for shipment to 3 locations
The centerpiece is a silver foil embossing that features “60 Years” in geometric typography and in all four national languages on the cover. The result is not a simple glossy effect, but a reflective relief that appears to come alive depending on the angle of the light, giving the cover a three-dimensional depth that immediately catches the eye. The use of Sirio Pearl Ice White—a creative paper with a subtle sheen—creates a tangible sense of quality.
The Refutura paper (Blue Angel, FSC) used for the interior pages provides the necessary contrast: matte, lightly coated, pleasantly textured, and environmentally friendly to the highest standard.
In this way, the association is making a conscious statement: cultural education and sustainability are equally important to it.
From the invitation to shipping: Everything under one roof
Another detail that was included: the A5 invitation card for the annual museum conference, printed in five colors with a Pantone silver accent. Instead of being sent as a separate mailing, it is included directly in the magazine.
