Annette has been shaping the development of Staffel Medien AG for 20 years. Today she is at the head of Marconivox – the new content creation unit of Staffel Medien AG, which brings brand messages to life with innovative content.
Anyone who knows Annette knows that she never stands still. She has been actively shaping change in the media industry at Staffel Medien AG for 20 years. When she started in 2005, Facebook and YouTube were still new – today she heads Marconivox, our Content Creation Unit, which has been delivering fresh content for the digital world since September 2024. We spoke to her about formative experiences, the transformation of the industry and her view of the future of media communication.
Annette, congratulations on your 20th anniversary! How would you describe your path at Staffel Medien AG?

Thank you very much. After the birth of our children, it was the ideal return to work for me. I started with administrative tasks, soon built up the marketing department and found my place. The graphics industry was new territory - but the learning was worth it. Today, I support Ralf in the management and I am proud of how we have developed - especially digitally with the founding of Marconivox. And even after 20 years, I still really enjoy my work!
In your opinion, what have been the biggest changes in the media landscape over the last 20 years?

The biggest change has clearly been digitalization. When I started at Staffel Medien, print was still the main medium - today, a large part of communication takes place digitally. Media consumption has changed completely and many print shops have had to close. For us, this meant not standing still, but moving with the times. We expanded our range, looked for new ways - and found them. I am very proud that we now have a strong digital position in addition to printing.
You are the driving force behind Marconivox, our new Content Creation Unit. What makes this project so special?

Marconivox is a real passion project for me. We've been producing digital content at Staffel Medien for a long time, but it wasn't really noticed. With Marconivox, we now have our own stage where we can show what we can do - creatively, digitally and with a lot of storytelling. I'm particularly proud of our dedicated team - with a lot of passion and humor, we've built something that really works - that's what makes Marconivox so special for me.
How can the Marconivox approach be described?

At Marconivox, we think holistically and creatively. We are not just interested in beautiful content, but in real stories that work. We work closely with our clients, listen to them and develop tailor-made ideas. What sets us apart? Passion, joy and the ambition to always give our best.
In 20 years, you certainly experience highs and lows. What was your biggest professional challenge?

My biggest professional challenge is to maintain a balance between innovation, further development and a strong team spirit. I want us as a company not only to be at the forefront, but also for everyone in the team to be able to contribute their strengths and feel valued. It's not always easy to bring all of this together - but that's exactly what makes my work so exciting and fulfilling.
When you look back on your early days: What advice would you give your younger self?

Hmm, good question! I would say to my younger self: "Have courage, try things out and stop trying to do everything perfectly!" Staying open, learning new things and not standing still - that was (and is) the key. And quite honestly, I would go down the same path again - perhaps a little more quietly at times, but with just as much heart.
What tips would you give young talents who want to gain a foothold in the media industry?

The media industry is incredibly diverse and constantly changing - which is exactly what makes it so exciting. My tip: be open, try out different things and continue your education. If you find your place, you can make a big difference here. Our daughter Jill, who has been with us for a year, is a good example of this. She has found her place in the industry and is passionate about it - that makes me really proud.
What motivates you personally to be so committed and passionate about your work every day?

I am motivated by the fact that we can really make a difference in the industry - and with a team that has developed really well and really pulls together. Change drives me, standing still is not for me. And quite honestly: I love my job!
What are your plans for the next few years with Staffel Medien AG and Marconivox?

That we continue to be successful as a team - in a working environment in which everyone feels comfortable and can develop. And that we continue to support our customers so that they achieve their goals and remain successful. At the end of the day, what counts for me is making a difference together and enjoying what we do. I would like to thank Ralf from the bottom of my heart for giving me this opportunity 20 years ago.
